About SoUAnime

SoUAnime is still getting things lined up for 2026, but in the meantime follow our Instagram for updates on panels and events, and guest information as we get closer to the con!

SoUAnime is Southern Utah's only anime convention, back for 2026! Centered around a love of anime, gaming, cosplay, k-pop and everything fandom, SoUAnime welcomes die-hard anime fans and newbies alike!

Started by a mom who discovered anime through her kids, SoUAnime provides a safe, family-friendly environment for fans to connect with each other and for anyone curious to learn about anime and anime culture.

In the pursuit of a family-friendly environment, SoUAnime maintains a PG-rated dress code: no profanity, no gore, no overly sexual content, no nudity of any kind.

Lee Wiley

Mascot Artist

Lee Wiley is a Utah-based illustrator and creator best known for his original stories Exodus — a diesel-and-steampunk fantasy set in an alternate 1800s America — and Expiration Date, a sci-fi thriller about a future where every citizen's life can end at random. He is also recognized for his signature cardboard art, using the medium's toned surface for high-contrast pieces that became a convention favorite and led to the coffee-table art book Cardboards Volume 1. A DSU and SUU graduate, and convention guest, Wiley continues to build worlds and bring characters to life.

Dress Code, Weapons & Props

All con-goer attire must adhere to SoUAnime's general dress code regardless of if they are cosplaying or not. Clothes should be suitable for a general audience, free from excessive violence/gore, profanity, controversial symbols or statements, or immodesty.

Weapons & Props

  • No functional weapons: No real or simulated weapons of any kind that can be used to harm.
  • Costume weapons: Allowed only if inspected by approved staff members at badge pick-up and made from safe, lightweight materials (wood, plastic, foam, rubber, cardboard, paper, thermoplastics). Metal may be used for accents but not as the main construction.
  • Blades: No “live steel” or “show blades” — no swords, knives, claws, or similar sharp or dull metal weapons.
  • Prop firearms: Must be incapable of firing projectiles and have an orange cap on the barrel.
  • No stilts.
  • No potentially hazardous tools (hot glue guns, scissors, etc.) are allowed unless they are fake/toy props which cannot be used to cause harm to others.
