Cosplay Competition
There will be 2 types of competition judging:
- Craftsmanship (Individual and group)
- Performance (Individual and group)
The day of SoUAnime
Sign up at 5:30 PM at the Information booth to confirm you are ready to compete.
Competition starts at 6:00 PM.
Division Guidelines
The criteria for each division is considered based on the type of entry (e.g, wins in performance will not be considered when registering for craftsmanship judging.)
- Beginner Division: No more than 2 individual craftsmanship or performance wins.
- Intermediate Division: 3-5 individual craftsmanship or performance wins, or any win in an Intermediate level competition.
- Masters Division: more than 5 individual craftsmanship or performance wins, or any win in a Masters level competition.
Rules
- It is recommended for participants to pre-register. Entries will be accepted at the convention based on availability.
- Entries can be from any source material – from east to west to world wide web! This contest is not restricted to anime or Japanese media.
- Competitors entering under performance must meet the following criteria:
- Audio cannot be longer than 3 minutes. Sound will be cut off at the 3 minute mark except when granted by exemption.
- Competitors may enter to be judged as individuals or as part of a group. Groups in the may have up to 6 participants, except when granted exemption by the organizer
- If you want to request an exemption for group size or audio time limit, contact the organizers at info@SoUAnime.com.
- Contestants that are 12 years old or under must be accompanied by an adult.
- Maintain a PG rating: no profanity, no violence/gore, no overly sexual content, no nudity.
- Provide an accurate description of your stage plan. If your plans change, let us know via email.
- If you bring it on the stage, you must be able to take it off with you when you are done.
- No pyrotechnics, no live steel/real weapons, and no real combat.
